Aqua Yoga Teacher Training

Aqua Yoga: Linking Breath & Movement Series

For yoga teachers, aquatic professionals and aqua yoga students

How do the properties of water affect a yoga postures practice and the linking of breath with movement? In this multi-module series learn how buoyancy, water viscosity and hydrostatic pressure can both facilitate and challenge breath-centric movements. You'll discover how yoga postures practice in the water will deepen your understanding of practice on land.

Taught in a multi-module format.

 In this series, students will:

  • Learn about directional flow of the breath
  • Experience how yoga postures in the water inform and influence the relationship between the spine and the breath
  • Gain understanding on what water facilitates and what water challenges in yoga postures practice
  • Identify how the various properties of water affect yoga postures practice and how the inclusion of props in the water enhance and change the practice
  • Consider how aqua yoga is accessible and beneficial for individuals living with various challenging conditions

Aqua Yoga Level 1 & 2 Certification

For yoga teachers, aquatic professionals and aqua yoga students

We highly recommend the Aqua Kriya Yoga program created and taught by Camella Nair. Level 1 is an 18 hour program that is completed over one weekend. Level 2 is a 22 hour program and delves more into special populations and aqua yoga therapeutics; level 1 training is a prerequisite. Look at http://www.aquakriyayoga.com/ for training dates and locations.

Dallas Aqua Yoga is also happy to arrange for Aqua Kriya Yoga to come to Aquafit of Plano. Please contact Sandi to discuss.

Aqua Yoga Anchored

CEUs available

Many populations benefit from the use of the pool wall in combination with anchoring techniques from the Iyengar tradition. Aqua yoga restoratives can be enjoyed; stabilization and strength work can be practiced without excess loading on knee, hip, ankle, shoulder, elbow and wrists joints.

Material has been compiled and a formal course in in the development process. Please feel free to contact Sandi via the contact page if you'd like to know when this course will be offered for CEUs.
